Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1914, in very good condition with 85% finish. 3/5 Bore (light to mild wear to rifling, light to mild pitting throughout). 3/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Stock has an unrepaired 1" crack on the left side at the top of the wrist, running parallel with the woodline.
On the right side of the stock there are mild gouges on the butt, below the comb. Scratch at the rear of the butt. Mild to heavy gouge toward the bottom of the butt. In front of the finger groove there is a checker-pattern mild pressure mark, and there is a similar mark on the left side. Light gouge behind the rear barrel band. Heavy gouging behind the front barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there are mild pressure marks and light gouging on the wrist. Large, mild pressure mark and light to mild gouges before the rear barrel band, between the stock and handguard. Mild pressure marks and light gouging behind the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a light gouge in front of the rear barrel band. Heavy pressure mark behind the front barrel band. Some sort of rivet or other metallic object was inserted about halfway between the barrel bands.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Mild edge wear and light surface marks throughout the receiver. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish. Front barrel band has light to mild finish wear. Magazine plate has light to mild finish wear. Trigger guard has heavily worn finish and several surface marks. Magazine base has heavily worn finish.
Receiver is P36 stamped, indicating privatization in 1936. N26 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1926.
