Swiss W+F Bern 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1912, in Very Good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Bolt non-matching serial number (s/n 481786).
First year of production (6,000 produced), with a faster 230mm twist barrel (1:9.05") before switching back to 270mm (1:10.63") in 1913.
Upper bolt knob is cracked.
Rear tangent sight is slightly bent.
On the right side of the stock there is a light gouge at the rear of the butt. Light gouging around the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there are mild pressure marks on the forward half of the butt. Light to mild gouging between the wrist and the finger groove. Light gouging before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is a light gouge on the butt at the toe. On the top of the stock there is light gouging along the comb.
Receiver has lightly worn finish and light surface marks. Mild to heavy finish wear on the barrel shank. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish. Front barrel band has lightly worn finish. Magazine plate and trigger guard have heavily worn finish. Magazine base is in the white.
P56 stamped receiver, indicating privatization in 1956.
33 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1933.
