Swiss private production 1911 Infantry Rifle in good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Estimated to be one of the first private production 1911 Rifles (serial number range is believed to start at P5000).
Furniture was previously sanded and refinished with a semi-gloss finish.
Stock has an unrepaired 3" long crack on both sides of the stock on the underside of the grip, coming off of the trigger guard screw.
On the right side of the stock, the original owner's name "G. Genioz" of Metzger is found on an oval brass plaque at the butt. Remains of previous light gouges on the comb. Light gouge behind the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there is a small hole forward of the grip, near the woodline.
Receiver is stamped on the chamber with the name of the gun shop "H. Grunder" in Thun and "S.1" over the serial number.
The stock does not have a production date code that could be used to date the rifle.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Light patina over the chamber. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Light finish wear and light patina on the magazine plate and trigger guard. Mild edge wear around the trigger guard.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
