Private series Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle in good condition with 70% original finish. 1/5 Bore (dull bore, heavy pitting throughout). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs matching serial numbers.
Furniture has some mild pressure marks and gouges. On the right side of the stock, to the left of the finger groove there is a vertical gouge. About halfway between the end of the finger groove and the rear barrel band is a large, heavy gouge just below the woodline. On the left side of the stock there is a long, light gouge on the grip and a vertical scrape just past the grip. There are a pair of gouges on the comb of the stock.
On the right side of the stock, to the right of the Swiss military acceptance stamp is a small plaque with the name of "Ch. MEYLAN" of Montpreveyres (canton Vaud), likely the original owner.
Receiver finish is heavily worn. Receiver has mild to fair patina, and fair to moderate pitting throughout. Both barrel bands have light to mild finish wear and light patina. Trigger guard has moderate finish wear and light pitting. Magazine base has moderate to heavy finish wear and light pitting.
Receiver has the name of the gunsmith "J. HARTMANN" of Lausanne stamped on the right side at the chamber.
Both charging handle knobs are cracked.
