W+F Bern Swiss 1896/11 - sn 333xx2
Swiss W+F Bern 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1909, in good condition with 80% finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling, light pitting). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Upper bolt knob is cracked and chipped. Lower bolt knob is chipped.
Finger grooves on the stock seem to be thinner and narrower than normal.
On the right side of the stock there are heavy pressure marks and light gouging at the rear of the butt. Mild gouging at the forward end of the butt. Light gouging around the finger groove. Light gouging before the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there is light gouging forward of the wrist. Light gouging around the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is a mild pressure mark in front of the magazine plate. Handguard has a heavy pressure mark in front of the rear barrel band and a heavy gouge halfway between the barrel bands.
Receiver finish is lightly worn and has light patina. Light surface marks throughout the receiver. Both barrel bands have heavily worn finish. Magazine plate has light to mild finish wear. Trigger guard has heavily worn finish. Magazine base has heavily worn finish.
P37 stamped receiver, indicating privatization in 1937.
