Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1903, in very good condition with 80% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, light pitting). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Upper bolt knob is cracked. Lower bolt knob is chipped.
Furniture was previously sanded and refinished.
On the right side of the stock there is a heavy gouge on the butt near the center of the comb. On the left side of the stock there are small pin holes around the center of the butt. Heavy gouge halfway between the finger groove and rear barrel band. Heavy pressure mark before the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is a small patch of green paint before the rear sling mount. Heavy pressure mark at the forward end of the comb.
Both barrel bands and the trigger guard had a black coating applied.
Receiver has mildly worn finish and mild patina throughout. Both barrel bands have light pitting. Magazine plate has light to mild finish wear. Trigger guard has light pitting.
Receiver is P37 stamped, indicating privatization in 1937.
