Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1903, in very good condition with 80% finish. 3/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, a few spots of heavy pitting at the start of the rifling). 3/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Both bolt knobs are chipped.
On the left side of the stock, there are mild pressure marks throughout the butt and a small, heavy gouge at the center of the butt. Long, heavy gouge rear of the grip. Multiple light gouges between the grip and finger groove. On the underside of the stock, there is a heavy gouge next to the magazine catch. The stock has heavy chips underneath the butt plate at the heel. Heavy gouge at the receiver tang. On the handguard, there is a heavy gouge at the rear and a mild to heavy gouge about halfway between the barrel bands.
A 1949 Schutzenfest participation band, held in Chur (canton Graubünden), is found wrapped around the stock and handguard before the front barrel band.
Receiver finish is mildly worn and has mild patina throughout. Rear barrel band has heavy patina. Front barrel band has mild to heavy finish wear. Magazine plate and trigger guard has mild to heavy patina.
