Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1900, in good condition with 85% finish. 3/5 Bore (bright bore but there are spots of heavy pitting around the center of the bore). 1/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Stock has a 2" unrepaired crack on the right side of the wrist and 2 1/2" unrepaired crack on the left side of the wrist.
On the right side of the stock there is a heavy gouge on the butt near the center of the comb. Area of light gouging at the forward end of the butt. Mild pressure marks throughout the butt. Mild pressure marks around the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there are mild pressure marks and light gouging throughout the butt. Light gouging between the finger groove and rear barrel band. Heavy gouge before the rear barrel band. Severe gouge in front of the rear barrel band. Light gouging before the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges on the butt behind the pistol grip. Light gouging before the rear barrel band. Mild pressure marks along the comb. Heavy pressure mark at the forward end of the comb. Handguard has light gouges at the rear and heavy pressure marks in front of the rear barrel band.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Light surface marks throughout the receiver. Both barrel bands have lightly worn finish and light pitting. Trigger guard has mildly worn finish.
Receiver is P36 stamped, indicating privatization in 1936.
