Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1898, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (light pitting throughout). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers except for the bolt knob (replacement).
Lower bolt knob is cracked.
On the right side of the stock, there are light gouges at the rear of the butt. Light gouge in front of the rear barrel band. Three vertical scratches between the stock and handguard before the front barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there are light gouges on the butt. Mild pressure mark at the forward end of the butt. Heavy pressure mark forward of the wrist, over the trigger guard. Heavy gouge at the rear of the finger groove. Heavy pressure marks around the rear barrel band. Several vertical gouges before the front barrel band. On the underside there are light gouges on the underside of the wrist. Heavy gouge next to the magazine catch. On the comb there are a pair of heavy scratches. Handguard has a heavy pressure mark and light gouging between the ferrule and rear barrel band. Mild pressure mark in front of the rear barrel band.
Receiver has lightly worn finish and light edge wear throughout. Mild to heavy patina over the chamber, light patina throughout the rest of the receiver. Both barrel bands have lightly worn finish and light patina. Magazine plate and trigger guard has mild patina. Magazine base has heavy finish wear and heavy pitting.
Receiver is P53 stamped, indicating privatization in 1953.
