Swiss W+F Bern 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1909, in very good condition with 90% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Barrel is a dedicated .22LR barrel.
Handguard has tiger striping throughout. Furniture was previously sanded and refinished.
On the right side of the stock there is a light gouge below the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there is a heavy gouge halfway between the finger groove and rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges in front of the magazine plate.
All bluing was previously refurbished.
Receiver has light pitting at the rear and light finish wear throughout. Trigger guard has lightly worn finish.
"W. Glaser Zurich" is stamped below the receiver's serial number, who would have been the Zurich-based gunsmith that performed the conversion to rimfire.
P38 stamped, indicating privatization in 1938.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
