Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in very good condition with 90% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Furniture was previously sanded and refinished.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges throughout the butt. Light gouging in front of the finger groove. Light gouging behind the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges behind the rear barrel band and a light to mild gouge behind the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges on the wrist. Light gouging in front of the magazine plate. Heavy gouge behind the rear barrel band. An "X" has been carved behind the front barrel band. On the handguard there is a light to mild gouge about halfway between the barrel bands.
Receiver finish is lightly worn. Mild edge wear throughout the receiver. Mild surface mark on the rear lightening cut. Rear barrel band has lightly worn finish and light patina. Front barrel band has mildly worn finish.
No P stamp noted.
