Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1892, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers except for the bolt (s/n 77419) and the bolt knob.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges and heavy pressure marks throughout the butt. Mild pressure marks around the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges on the butt at the toe and at the forward end of the butt. Light gouging on the forward end of the wrist. Mild pressure marks and a light gouge between the finger groove and rear barrel band. Light gouging between the barrel bands. On the underside of the stock there is a heavy gouge in front of the magazine plate.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear and mild edge wear. Light pitting throughout the receiver. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish and mild patina. Front barrel band has lightly worn finish and light surface marks. Trigger guard has mild edge wear and light pitting. Magazine has heavy edge wear and heavy finish wear on the right side.
Receiver is P21 stamped, indicating privatization in 1921.
A sheet metal stopper had been installed to prevent the magazine from being disengaged with the magazine lever.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
