Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1897, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there is a heavy gouge at the woodline near the rear of the receiver. Light gouging before the rear barrel band and between the barrel bands. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges before the rear barrel band. Handguard has a light gouge before the rear barrel band. Mild pressure marks and light gouges before the front barrel band.
Receiver has heavy edge wear and light surface marks. Rear barrel band has lightly worn finish and light patina. Trigger guard has lightly worn finish and light surface marks. Magazine has heavily worn finish.
P24 stamped receiver, indicating privatization in 1924.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
A sheet metal stopper had been installed to prevent the magazine from being disengaged with the magazine lever.
