Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1897, in very good condition with 85% finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Stock is heavily gouged at the end of the butt. Butt plate is partially overhanging at the toe.
On the right side of the stock, there are light gouges in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there is a large dark spot at the rear of the butt that appears to be water damage. Long, heavy pressure mark before the finger grove, near the magazine. Heavy pressure mark in front of the finger groove. Light gouging in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a mild gouge at the tang. Mild gouge on the comb.
Receiver finish is mildly worn over the chamber. Mild pitting at the rear of the receiver. Heavy pitting on the rear sight. Heavy pitting on the front of the trigger guard. Butt plate is severely pitted.
No P stamp noted.
