Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1896, in very good condition with 80% finish. 3/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling, mild pitting). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Upper bolt knob is cracked. Lower bolt knob is chipped.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges toward the forward end of the butt and a light gouge below the bolt release lever. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges along the bottom of the butt and mild pressure marks at the forward end of the butt. Light gouging behind the rear barrel band and a heavy pressure mark in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges along the butt. Light gouging in front of the magazine plate. Mild gouging at the top of the wrist. Handguard has a light gouge at the rear and a heavy pressure mark behind the rear barrel band.
Receiver has mildly worn finish and light patina. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish. Front barrel band has mildly worn finish. Magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine has heavily worn finish.
P stamped receiver.
