Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1895, in good condition with 80% finish. 2/5 Bore (heavy pitting throughout). 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
Both bolt knobs are cracked and chipped.
Furniture was previously refinished with a semi-gloss finish. There is debris stuck in the finish.
On the right side of the stock there are light gouges throughout the butt. Heavy gouge behind the rear barrel band and light gouging between the barrel bands. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges throughout the butt. Heavy gouge inside the finger groove. Light gouging along the comb. Mild to heavy gouge on the top of the wrist at the receiver tang.
Receiver has mildly worn finish and mild patina. Rear barrel band has heavily worn finish. Front barrel band has lightly worn finish. Magazine plate and trigger guard has mildly worn finish and light to mild pitting.
Receiver is P31 stamped, indicating privatization in 1931.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
