Swiss 1889 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1893, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Bolt and magazine matching receiver serial number. Unable to check the serial number on the stock and handguard as a brass plaque installed on the underside of the stock is blocking removal of the rear barrel band.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
On the left side of the stock there are mild pressure marks along the butt. On the underside of the stock there is a scratch in front of the magazine plate. Brass plaque just before the front barrel band engraved with "Joh. Engeler Maurermeister Kaltenbach Kt. Thurgau". Light gouge on the top of the wrist at the receiver tang. Handguard has a mild pressure mark and a mild gouge at the rear edge.
Receiver finish is lightly worn and has light pitting throughout. Both barrel bands have lightly worn finish and light pitting. Trigger guard has lightly worn finish and light pitting. Magazine has mildly worn finish and light pitting.
