Swiss Martini target rifle, made by J. Affolter of Biel (canton Bern), in good condition with 75% finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock.
Stock has a burled wood grain pattern. Forearm has tiger striping.
On the left side of the stock, a wooden splice is found at the rear of the butt, near the heel. Multiple cracks in the wood grain around the center of the butt. Cracks along the top of the comb and the top of the wrist. A previous repair was made to this crack on the wrist.
On the right side of the forearm there is gouging near the receiver. A large splice was made at the forward end of the forearm.
Receiver has areas of severely worn finish. Barrel finish is lightly worn and has light patina and light pitting throughout.
The barrel has two dovetails for a front sight. The forwardmost dovetail has been blocked off with an insert.
Barrel is stamped on the left side with "Gottfried Stucki Chaux-De-Fonds" (canton Neuchâtel). Receiver is stamped on the right side with "J. Affolter in Biel" (canton Bern).
Includes leather sling.
