Swiss Martini target rifle, made by Franz Boeckle of Glarus, in fair condition with severely worn finish. 3/5 Bore (mild pitting throughout the rifling. 2/5 Stock.
Furniture appears to have been refinished with a cherry stain. Light tiger striping on the right side of the stock. Tiger striping along the left side of the forearm.
On the left side of the stock, the butt is stamped before the cheek piece with a "VK" or "WK" in a shield, and a pair of stamps "2K" in a circle". There is a line along the comb, running parallel to the comb; unable to determine if this is a crack. Heavy pressure mark on the left side of the forearm in front of the receiver. Multiple cracks in the forearm around the muzzle. The forward end of the channel for the cleaning rod appears to have been previously chipped off and then sanded down.
Very little bluing remaining overall. A little bluing remains on the trigger guard/operating lever and on the barrel around the muzzle. Behind the rear sight, there appears to be a dovetail on the barrel that was capped off and the insert was ground flush.
Right side of the receiver is stamped with "Fr. BOECKLE / IN GLARUS". Safety lever on the right side of the receiver. The two front plates on the left and right side of the forearm are each missing one screw.
Includes leather sling and cleaning rod.
