Product Description
Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen rifle, manufactured by Springfield in 1903, in good condition with 75% finish. 3/5 Bore (Dark bore, mild pitting throughout). 4/5 Stock.
On the right side of the stock, there is a small, deep pressure mark at the rear of the grip. Multiple light to mild gouges near the rear of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there are light gouges at the comb and the grip. Heavy pressure mark at the rear of the finger groove. On the underside of the stock, there are light pressure marks before the rear barrel band and a heavy pressure mark in front of the rear barrel band. On the top side of the stock, there is a mild pressure mark on the grip.
Receiver finish is heavily worn and has mild patina throughout. Heavy finish wear and heavy patina on both barrel bands. Heavy finish wear on the trigger guard.
Correct Dixon "1902" sight installed with single notch.
Stock is stamped on the left side at the wrist with "JSA" "1903" which is an inspection and approval stamp by J. Sumner Adams at Springfield Armory, and an encircled "P" on the underside which is a military acceptance stamp.
This rifle has not been sporterized.
