French model 1866 Chassepot Cavalry Carbine, in good condition. 4/5 Bore (light pitting at the muzzle). 1/5 Stock.
Manufactured by Manufacture d'Armes de Tulle in 1870.
Rifle is completely in the white.
Stock has several cracks found around the wrist and trigger guard. Stock was originally manufactured from two pieces of wood spliced together, and there are existing repairs, however it cannot be determined which cracks have been repaired and which have not.
On the right side of the stock, there is a mild pressure mark and deep gouge at the butt. Mild gouge before the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges around the butt. Heavy gouging on the wrist. Heavy gouge behind the middle barrel band. 1.5" crack on the top of the wrist at the receiver tang.
Light surface marks on the three brass barrel bands and the brass trigger guard.
Cleaning rod is missing. Rear tangent sight has no tension but the tension spring is still intact.
