Product Description
Grünig & Elmiger Super Match target rifle in very good condition with 93% original finish. 4/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. The bore is lightly dull but the rifling remains very sharp. The furniture has small pressure marks in areas, consistent with its use as a competition rifle. The stock is a thumbhole stock intended for right handed shooters. There is some white paint transfer on the left side of the stock. The right side of the stock has been modified around the thumb hole and the grip to better fit the previous owner. The adjustable hand rest has handling wear from use. The cheek rest has a cheek pad affixed to it. Hooked butt plate also allows you to adjust the length of pull. A stabilizing arm sling is attached to the forearm. The receiver has a plum tint to the bluing and has a few scratches in the finish. A long strip of matte black tape was applied to the barrel to help guard against glare.
Several stickers are found on the stock. The left side has one sticker reading "35. Nidwaldner KSF / 1988" (35th Nidwalden Canton Marksmen's Festival in 1988), "Standweihschiessen / Militärschiessverein Buchs/ZH / 2.-4. und 8.-10. September 1989" (Firing from a standing position, military shooting club at Buchs, Zurich, 2-4 and 8-10 September 1989), as well as the original owner's information. The right side of the stock at the butt has a Swiss shield sticker, the blue and white sticker is part of the coat of arms of the original owner's hometown of Illnau, and further up on the stock are two more competition stickers: "69. Glarner Kantonal-Schützenfest, Näfels / 1.4. und 6.-9. Juli 1989" (69th Canton Marksmen's Festival in Nafels, Glarus, Switzerland from 1-4 and 6-9 July 1989), and "2. Engadiner Landes-schiessen 1989, St. Moritz / HAUS DES JÄGERS" (2nd country shooting festival in the Engadine region, St. Moritz, hosted by Haus Des Jägers).
Very nice diopter sights are installed. Both the rear and front sights have an adjustable iris. The rear sight also has a dial-selectable colored lens filter, allowing you to select a green filter, yellow filter, several shades of grey, and clear.
