Product Description
This is a very low serial number Fabrique Nationale Model 1946, also known as the Browning Hi Power, in very good condition with 90% original finish. 5/5 Bore. Bluing overall is dark, but as a military issued firearm it does show signs of wear. There is edge wear on the forward edge of the frame, some light edge wear at the trigger guard, and a few marks in the bluing on the underside and a small mark on the front strap. Slide has some holster wear at the muzzle as well as edge wear along the upper edge. There are marks on the left side of the slide from slide stop usage. There are also small scratches found on top of the slide. Wood grips have handling wear and flattened checkering. There is a small ring-shaped gouge at the top of the right side grip. Includes leather holster. Leather holster has original cleaning rod attached.
Slide is stamped with "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE" "HERSTAL BELGIQUE" "BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Frame is marked with model name "M.1946", the serial number, and a crown over "HV" indicating that this is a Danish Military pistol - HV, or "Haerens Vabenarsenal" translates to Army Weapons Arsenal / Royal Danish Arsenal. Both the slide and frame have a stamp of a lion over "PV" which is the nitro proof stamp. Slide has a star over N stamp, frame has a star over G stamp, which are inspection stamps.
