Antique Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1898, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
The retrofit pistol grip does not sit square in the stock and is biased toward the right side of the rifle, however it is not loose and is solidly installed in the stock.
On the right side of the stock, there is heavy finish wear on the butt. Light gouging around the finger groove. Mild pressure marks between the barrel bands. On the left side of the stock there is light gouging forward of the wrist. Light gouging in front of the rear barrel band. Heavy pressure mark before the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock there are light gouges in front of the magazine plate. Light gouging along the comb. Handguard has a heavy gouge before the front barrel band.
Receiver has light pitting. Both barrel bands have light pitting. Light to mild pitting on the magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine.
Receiver is P58 stamped, indicating privatization in 1958.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
