Antique Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1897, in very good condition with 90% finish. 4/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers.
One of only 24,550 total 1896/11 Rifles produced that qualify as an Antique instead of Curio & Relic.
Stock has been refinished with a semi-gloss finish.
On the right side of the stock there is a light gouge on the butt near the comb. Light gouging around the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there is light gouging at the rear of the butt. Heavy pressure mark before the finger groove. Light gouging around the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there is a small screw hole on the wrist. Light gouging in front of the magazine plate.
Receiver has mild edge wear, lightly worn finish and light patina. Area of mild to heavy finish wear before the loading slot. Both barrel bands have lightly worn finish and light patina. Magazine plate and trigger guard have light finish wear, light patina, and light pitting.
