Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1941, in good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (sharp rifling but dull bore). 1/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Stock has a very prominent tiger stripe pattern. There is very heavy handling wear around the butt of the stock on both sides. On the right side, there is a heavy gouge near the heel of the stock and various small gouges along the butt. There is a gouge on the grip toward the underside. Various light to mild pressure marks found throughout the middle of the stock. The forearm of the stock, in between the two barrel bands, has several fair to moderate pressure marks. On the left side of the stock there is a scrape in the finish behind the rear sling mount and various light to fair pressure marks along the side. Several gouges near the bottom of the stock, above the magazine. There is an unrepaired crack at the grip, which begins at about the midpoint of the grip, continues diagonally downward toward the rear of the grip, and then angles forward again until terminating at the magazine plate. On the underside of the stock, there are numerous light to mild pressure marks along the toe and a few gouges on the pistol grip. Several moderate pressure marks are found on the forearm, around the rear barrel band spring, and there is a long and light scratch perpendicular to and near the front barrel band. The handguard has numerous light pressure marks throughout. There is a gouge on the left side of the handguard in front of the rear barrel band and another gouge on the left side before the rear barrel band.
Receiver finish has light to mild finish wear overall, along with some light scratching. Light to mild edge wear around the loading slot and slightly heavier finish wear on the left side of the stock toward the rear. Mild edge wear on the forward right edge of the receiver which lightens as it continues to the rear. Rear barrel band has fair to moderate finish wear throughout, and heavy finish wear on the underside at the mounting screw. Front barrel band has moderate to heavy finish wear. Light edge wear around the front sight. Magazine plate has good finish and a small mark next to the magazine catch. Trigger guard has light edge wear and light finish wear on the underside. Magazine has mild edge wear.
Diopter sights are installed. Rear diopter sight is mounted on a W+F Bern K-type mount and has six selectable apertures. Front sight is a globe sight.
Receiver is P stamped. Includes leather sling.

The Karabiner Model 1931 (K31) is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11) that was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss Armed Forces from 1933 through 1958. The K31 was made by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik Bern, a Swiss federal armory, and is one of the last carbines employed by the Swiss military that is based on the designs by Schmidt and Rubin.
