Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1948, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
The furniture's overall finish is heavily worn. The furniture may have been previously sanded, as the Swiss ordnance stamp is shallow. On the right side of the stock there are multiple scrapes above the toe. On the forearm in between the two barrel bands there are several scratches and a couple of light gouges. On the left side of the stock there are scratches on the grip caused by the sling stud. Just below the woodline below the receiver there are several light scrapes as well as a long scratch. Light scratch on the forearm in between the two barrel bands. On the underside of the stock at the toe there is evidence that the toe was heavily sanded as the butt plate sits slightly proud. There are multiple marks from gouging from the toe to the pistol grip. There are a few light gouges on the comb and a heavy gouge to the right of the receiver tang. In between the two barrel bands, the handguard has a pair of gouges on the top side, a heavy pressure mark on the right side and a scrape on the left side.
The handguard has a pair of stickers in front of the ferrule; a white Waffenkontrolle sticker and a sticker from participation in a Schützenfest held in Biere, Canton Vaud in 2000.
Receiver has mostly light finish wear, with mild finish wear on the left side and mild to fair finish wear on the left side at the rear. Mild edge wear around the loading slot. There are also various light scratches in the finish at the rear of the receiver on the top and left side. Rear barrel band has heavy finish wear with light patina and is approaching white. Front barrel band has moderate to heavy finish wear. Front sight base has moderate to heavy finish wear. Mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Mild finish wear on the trigger guard. Fair finish wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped.
Soldier's tag found under butt plate.
Includes leather sling. The stitching on the sling adjustment loop is heavily worn.
