Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1947, in very good condition with 90% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 1/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Stock has several cracks, both repaired and unrepaired. On the left and right sides of the stock there is a long crack running from the butt to the grip which have been armory repaired. There are also four smaller cracks (two on each side) higher on the stock and a crack on the heel that do not appear to be armory repaired. A crack on the right side of the stock to the right of the bolt release lever and running through the finger groove has been armory repaired. On the right side of the stock there is a gouge on the forearm about halfway between the two barrel bands. On the left side of the stock there is heavy handling wear around the grip and along the woodline below the receiver. A wood plug has been inserted above the pistol grip. Above the magazine is a pair of light gouges. On the left side of the handguard there are small gouges and marks along the woodline from the ferrule to the rear barrel band. There is a gouge on the top side of the handguard in front of the rear barrel band.
Receiver has light edge wear around the loading slot and on the rear edge. There are a couple of very light scratches in the finish at the rear of the receiver. Light finish wear on the right side of the receiver. Light finish wear on the left side of the receiver at the rear. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the barrel step. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Mild finish wear on the right side of the magazine plate around the magazine catch. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. Light edge wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped.
Soldier's tag found under butt plate.
