Swiss K31 Carbine, produced in 1942, in very condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has various light to mild pressure marks and areas of heavy handling wear, particularly around the butt of the stock. On the right side of the stock, there are several shallow gouges below the heel and a couple of mild gouges along the bottom edge. There are a few long pressure marks rear of the grip. There is some rash around the edge of the finger groove, and to the right of the finger groove there is a long scratch that curves up onto the handguard. To the right of the scratch, there are a couple of heavy pressure marks and mild gouges. Before the rear barrel band there is a small gouge. On the left side of the stock, there is an area of some gouging below the heel. There are a couple of large gouges below the rear sling mount. There is an area of heavy handling wear at the woodline below the receiver, with scrapes and light gouging. On the underside of the stock there are some mild scrapes on the toe and a gouge across the right side of the pistol grip. In front of the magazine plate there are some small, light gouges. On the left side of the handguard there are a pair of gouges, one before and one in front of the rear barrel band.
Receiver has mild to fair finish wear, with the heavier finish wear along the left side. Fair finish wear and edge wear along the right side. Mild to fair edge wear around the loading slot. Fair to moderate finish wear and fair patina on the rear barrel band. Light finish wear on the front barrel band. Heavy edge wear around the upper edges of the front sight base and mild to fair finish wear. Mild to fair finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate finish wear on the trigger guard. Magazine has very light to light finish wear.
Magazine appears to be a replacement. While the displayed serial number matches the receiver's serial number, the typeface of the stamped serial number does not match the typeface seen with typical K31 magazines.
Receiver is P stamped.
Soldier's tag found under butt plate.
