Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1912, in very good condition with 85% finish. 5/5 Bore. 5/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers (furniture is in 1911 Infantry Rifle configuration). Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has light handling wear overall. On the right side of the stock, there is expected handling wear around the butt. There are a pair of light pressure marks in front of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there is some light scratching below the comb. On the forearm in between the two barrel bands there are some light pressure marks as well as a small cluster of pressure marks near the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is light handling wear at the toe and a few scattered light pressure marks. Handguard has a couple of light to mild pressure marks on the top side between the base and the rear barrel band.
Receiver has good bluing overall, except for the rear of the receiver where there is moderate to heavy finish wear. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the upper lightening cuts. Very little edge wear on the left side lightening cut. Heavy finish wear on the rear barrel band. Mild finish wear on the front barrel band, with the most wear found on the left side at the hinge and on the right side at the mounting screw. Light edge wear on the bayonet lug and mild finish wear on the stacking lug. Magazine plate has fair to good finish. Trigger guard has edge wear and light to mild finish wear. There are also scratches and marks on the surface of the trigger guard. Magazine has moderate to heavy finish wear.
Receiver is P.63 stamped, indicating privatization in 1963. There is also a WF28 stamp, indicating armory refurbishment in 1928.
Includes model 1899 bayonet, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, with matching serial number. Bayonet includes steel scabbard, leather frog, and belt. Bluing on scabbard is very dark. Belt measures 44" in length.
