Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1917, in very good condition with 85% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs non-matching serial numbers.
Furniture has various light to mild pressure marks throughout. Finish is worn around the butt. On the right side of the stock there are some surface gouges and heavy pressure marks around the butt. There is a small gouge to the right of the finger groove and there is an area of small, moderate to heavy pressure marks before the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there is a gouge near the butt and a light surface scrape just before the grip. There is a small gouge to the left of the finger groove. There are several heavy pressure marks around the rear barrel band and a gouge to the right of the barrel band just below the woodline. On the underside of the stock there is a series of three gouges on the forearm. There is a small gouge on the heel of the stock and a chip at the tang. The handguard has a gouge on the top side in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has areas of light finish wear and various scattered surface marks. There is some discoloration in the bluing, as if cosmoline had been applied and dried. Light edge wear around the loading slot, lightening cuts, and on the front and rear edges. Barrel base has light to mild finish wear. Very light finish wear on the barrel bands. Fair finish wear on the magazine plate and light patina. Mild finish weaer and light pitting on the trigger guard. Magazine has a dent on the base.
Upper bolt knob is cracked. Lower bolt knob is chipped.
Receiver is P61 stamped, indicating privatization in 1961.
