Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1916, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Rear barrel band non-matching serial number.
The stock is stamped twice on the right side at the butt with the Swiss military acceptance stamp.
On the right side of the stock, there are some fair pressure marks and a couple of mild gouges around the butt. Small, light gouge above the right side of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there are some mild pressure marks and a few scattered light gouges. There some some gouges on the side of the stock between the grip and the finger groove. Light pressure marks around the rear barrel band and a gouge near the rear barrel band. Light pressure marks along the comb, with a pair of mild pressure marks at the forward end of the comb. Light pressure marks throughout the handguard, with mild pressure marks in between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has fair finish wear, with heavier finish wear over the chamber and at the rear of the receiver. Mild patina throughout the receiver. Surface marks and light scratches throughout the receiver. Rear barrel band's bluing has likely been previously refurbished. Surface marks throughout the rear barrel band. Moderate finish wear on the front barrel band. Areas of heavy finish wear on the magazine plate. Heavy finish wear on the trigger guard, and a heavy surface mark on the edge. Heavy finish wear and mild patina on the magazine base.
Receiver is P 55 stamped, indicating privatization in 1955. 30 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1930.
Bottom bolt knob is a non-matching replacement and is chipped.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
