Swiss 1911 Infantry Rifle, among the first produced in the first year of production in 1912, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs matching serial numbers.
One of 15,000 total 1911 Infantry Rifles produced with a 230mm twist barrel, before switching production back to a 270mm twist barrel, and issued to the Landwehr (reserve troops).
Furniture has light handling wear overall. Furniture may have been previously lightly sanded as the Swiss military acceptance stamp on the right side of the butt appears shallow. On the left side of the stock, there is a light gouge near the top of the grip. On the right side of the handguard, there is a mild gouge near the ferrule at the woodline, a heavy pressure mark at the woodline before the rear barrel band, and a heavy pressure mark on the top side about halfway between the two barrel bands.
Receiver has light finish wear and light patina. Light edge wear around the loading slot, the three lightening cuts, and on the forward and rear edges. There are also a few very light scratches and light surface marks. Fair to moderate finish wear and mild patina on both barrel bands. Mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate to heavy finish wear, mild patina, and mild surface marks on the trigger guard. Heavy finish wear on the magazine base.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Receiver is P 54 stamped indicating privatization in 1954.
