This is a scarce single shot Swiss 1897 Cadet Rifle, produced in 1900, in good condition with 60% original finish. 4/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Bore is bright but rifling is worn. Both charging handle knobs are cracked. Receiver bluing is heavily worn and approaching white. Bluing on both barrel bands are also worn. Bottom of trigger guard has bluing that is nearly white, but the rest of the trigger guard still has some bluing remaining. Barrel bluing is fair, with wear at the muzzle. Furniture is well worn, with various rough handling marks, scratches, and gouges seen throughout. There is a repair in the stock near the receiver tang. Coat of arms for the canton of Zurich is stamped on the comb of the stock. C&R eligible. Discreet import engraving.
