Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1910, in good condition with 70% finish. 4/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Upper bolt knob is cracked.
Furniture had been previously sanded.
On the left side of the stock, there are heavy pressure marks around the middle of the butt. Excess glue had seeped out around the edge of the pistol grip retrofit. There are remains of a heavy gouge before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock is a heavy gouge by the magazine catch. The handguard has remains of a heavy gouge on the rear half.
Receiver finish is mildly worn. Heavy pitting throughout the receiver. Heavy finish wear and light pitting on both barrel bands. Heavy finish wear on the magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine. Light pitting on the magazine plate and trigger guard.
Receiver is P 38 stamped, indicating privatization in 1938.
