Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1903, in very good condition with 80% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock there are mild pressure marks at the butt toward the toe. Heavy pressure marks and a light gouge in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there is a light gouge toward the center of the comb and a small, heavy pressure mark to the right of the gouge. Light gouging on the grip. Light gouging at the wood line near the middle of the receiver. Long, heavy pressure marks before the rear barrel band. Light gouge in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a heavy gouge behind the pistol grip and a heavy gouge in front of the magazine catch.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear. Mild edge wear around the loading slot. Multiple light to mild surface marks throughout the receiver. Mild to heavy finish wear on the rear barrel band. Mild finish wear and light patina on the front barrel band. Heavy finish wear on the magazine plate, trigger guard, and magazine.
Receiver is P55 stamped, indicating privatization in 1955. ·11 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1911.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
