Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1901, in very good condition with 80% finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. All matching serial numbers except for the bolt knob.
Lower bolt knob is cracked. Both bolt knobs are chipped.
Furniture was previously refinished with a gloss finish.
On the right side of the stock, there are light gouges throughout the butt. Light gouge behind the finger groove. Mild gouging behind the rear barrel band. Small area of red paint or stain at the woodline between the barrel bands. On the left side of the stock there are light gouges on the pistol grip. Mild gouge below the woodline before the finger groove. Light gouge on the rear edge of the finger groove. On the underside of the stock, there is a light gouge on the pistol grip. Heavy gouge next to the magazine catch. Mild gouging between the magazine plate and rear barrel band. Light gouging along the comb. Handguard has a light gouge in front of the ferrule.
Receiver has heavily worn finish over the front half. Rear barrel band has lightly worn finish and light patina. Magazine plate has mildly worn finish and patina. Trigger guard has mild to heavy finish wear and heavy surface marks. Magazine base is approaching white.
Receiver is P stamped. ·8 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1908.
Includes leather sling.
