Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1919, in good condition with 75% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard both non-matching serial numbers, both with serial number 239558 (1899 production). Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
There is a mottled appearance throughout the furniture.
On the right side of the stock, there is a gouge on the butt at the comb. Light pressure marks and a light scratch in and around the finger groove. Light pressure marks at the woodline before the rear barrel band, coming from scratches on the handguard above. Several light gouges in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there is heavy finish wear at the butt. There are several long scratches and gouges throughout the butt. Heavy gouge above the rear sling mount. Multiple scratches and pressure marks between the grip and the right side of the finger groove. Light gouging to the left of the finger groove. Several light to mild gouges on the forearm in between the two barrel bands. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. Heavy gouging in front of the magazine plate. Light pressure marks along the comb and a gouge next to the stamped armory rack number. Several gouges in the handguard. On the left side of the handguard there is a light gouge above the woodline in front of the ferrule and gouging before the front barrel band. On the right side of the handguard there is a gouge about halfway between the two barrel bands.
Light to mild finish wear throughout the receiver. Receiver has multiple heavy surface marks throughout, but most prevalent on the top side at the rear, and on the right side. Mild edge wear around the loading slot and the forward edge, fair edge wear around the lightening cuts and at the rear of the receiver. Heavy finish wear on both barrel bands. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate finish wear on the trigger guard. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the magazine. Mild patina on the trigger guard and magazine.
No P stamp noted on the receiver.
