Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1909, in good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 1*/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture would have been graded 3/5, however there is an unrepaired crack on the left side of the grip, dropping the furniture grade to 1/5.
On the right side of the stock there is a long gouge on the side of the butt, some scattered small, light gouges around the butt, a heavy pressure mark on the pistol grip and a moderate pressure mark on the grip. Gouge on the top edge of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there are multiple gouges on and around the pistol grip and grip area. Heavy handling wear along the side of the stock from the end of the grip to the right side of the finger groove. Gouge above the right side of the finger groove. Scrape and gouging to the left of the finger groove, below the woodline. Mild pressure marks and a couple of light gouges between the two barrel bands. On the underside of the stock there are several gouges from the toe to the pistol grip. Gouge next to the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. There are a couple of light gouges on the forearm before the rear barrel band. Light gouges along the comb. Light gouges next to the handguard ferrule.
Fair to moderate finish wear throughout the receiver, with the heavier finish wear around over and around the chamber. Moderate edge wear around the loading slot, mild edge wear around the upper lightening cuts, fair edge wear around the left side lightening cut. There are also scattered surface marks on the receiver. Fair to moderate finish wear on the rear barrel band. Mild to fair finish wear around the front barrel band. Mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Fair finish wear on the trigger guard. Fair to moderate finish wear on the magazine base.
Receiver is P stamped.
