Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1908, in very good condition with 85% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Light tiger stripe pattern on the right side of the handguard in between the barrel bands.
Furniture has light to mild pressure marks scattered throughout. On the right side of the stock, there are a few mild gouges around the butt of the stock as well as a small but heavy on the pistol grip. There is a fair pressure mark on the grip. Light scratches in the wood below the right edge of the bolt release lever. Light pressure mark at about the middle of the bottom edge of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock there is a small but deep gouge above the magazine. Before the front barrel band, there is an area with multiple light pressure marks. On the underside of the stock, there are a pair of mild gouges to the right of the trigger guard and there is a heavy gouge next to the magazine catch.
Receiver has mild to fair finish wear and some light surface scratches throughout. Heavier finish wear on the left side of the receiver at the rear. Mild to fair edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts, mild edge wear at the forward edge. Light finish wear on the rear barrel band. Light to mild finish wear on the front barrel band, with most of the finish wear on the stacking arm and the bayonet lug. Magazine plate has an area of heavy finish wear in between the trigger guard and middle screw, and light to mild finish wear around the magazine catch. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. Light edge wear on the magazine.
Stock is stamped at the comb with an armory rack number of 128808.
Receiver is P 48 stamped, indicating privatization in 1948.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
