Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1907, in very good condition with 90% finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling, light to mild pitting throughout bore). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are some light pressure marks and light scratches around the butt. Several light pressure marks below the bolt release lever, and a mild gouge extending to the underside of the stock. Heavy gouge to the left of the finger groove. On the left side of the finger groove, there are numerous pressure marks and mild gouges. On the left side of the stock, there are mild to moderate pressure marks throughout the butt. There are a pair of mild gouges on the grip. Between the grip and the finger groove, there are light scratches, light to mild pressure marks, and on the woodline are a few light gouges. Moderate to heavy pressure marks before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge to the right of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch, and there is a light gouge forward of the magazine plate. Mild pressure marks along the comb. The comb is stamped for Canton Vaud and with an armory rack number of 36703. Mild to fair pressure marks throughout the handguard. There are several mild gouges on the top side of the handguard around the rear barrel band.
All bluing had been previously refurbished. The tangent sight has been completely blued over. Receiver has light finish wear on the top side between the upper lightening cuts and the loading slot. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts. Several light scratches and surface marks on the receiver. Light edge wear on both barrel bands. Light edge wear on the trigger guard. Light edge wear and a small spot of light finish wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P stamped.
