Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1907, in good condition with 75% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs non-matching serial numbers.
Light tiger stipe pattern found throughout the stock. Furniture has been previously lightly sanded and refinished. The Swiss military acceptance stamp is still visible on the right side of the stock. There are still some light marks and gouges remaining from previous gouging, particularly on the left side around the butt. There is a pressure mark and other light handling marks on and just past the grip. Mild pressure marks below the woodline before the rear barrel band. Small area of light pressure marks in between the two barrel bands. On the underside, there is a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. The comb of the stock is stamped with a rack of number of "86765". Light gouging on the top side of the handguard in between the ferrule and the rear barrel band.
Receiver has some light finish wear and pitting. Moderate pitting along the right side of the receiver. Light to mild edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts. Moderate finish wear and light to mild patina on both barrel bands. Light finish wear on the magazine plate. Heavy finish wear, mild patina, and heavy pitting on the trigger guard. Fair to moderate pitting on the magazine.
No P stamp found on the receiver.
Upper bolt knob is chipped. Lower bolt knob is cracked.
Includes leather sling.
