Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1906, in very good condition with 85% original finish. 3/5 Bore (dull bore with light pitting). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has various light to mild pressure marks throughout. Light finish wear around the butt. On the right side of the stock there is handling wear and finish wear on the butt above the rear sling mount. Light scratch on the grip. On the left side of the stock there is a gouge just below the heel and some gouging to the right of the pistol grip. There are multiple heavy pressure marks around and inside the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there is some sort of resin on the forearm near the front barrel band. The heel of the stock is stamped with "VAUD" for Canton Vaud. The handguard has a long scratch on the top side starting at the ferrule. There is a gouge on the left side in front of the rear barrel band and a gouge and adjacent scuffing on the top side near the front barrel band.
Receiver has light patina throughout. Light to mild finish wear and spots of light pitting on the top and right side, in between the upper lightening cuts and the loading slot. Light edge wear around the loading slot, the lightening cuts, and at the rear of the receiver. Both barrel bands have light finish wear and light patina. Areas of moderate finish wear on the magazine plate. Mild to fair edge wear on the trigger guard. Magazine has mild to fair edge wear, light finish wear, and mild patina.
Receiver is P 37 stamped indicating privatization in 1937.
Both bolt knobs are cracked.
Includes leather sling.
