Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1906, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knob matching serial number. Rear barrel band non-matching serial number.
Furniture appears to have been previously sanded. The Swiss ordnance stamp on the right side of the stock is shallow. Long wood grain pattern in the stock.
On the right side of the stock, there is a gouge in the middle of the butt and some scattered light pressure marks. There are a few light pressure marks below the bolt release lever, and a long, mild pressure mark running from the bolt release lever to the left side of the finger groove. Very light pressure marks on the bottom edge of the finger groove. Mild gouge before the rear barrel band. Light gouge on the forearm, forward of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there are some scattered light pressure marks on the butt. To the right of the finger groove, there are a pair of heavy pressure marks. Light pressure marks throughout the forearm. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. Very minor chipping at the receiver tang. Handguard has a few scattered mild pressure marks and a scrape on the right side between the ferrule and rear barrel band.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear and light patina. Mild edge wear and the loading slot, light to mild edge wear around the lightening cuts. Light finish wear and light patina on the rear barrel band. Light finish wear and very light patina on the front barrel band, and mild finish wear and light patina on the bayonet lug and stacking arm. Finish is worn around the muzzle. Fair to moderate finish wear on the magazine plate. Fair edge wear, light finish wear, and very light patina on the trigger guard. Fair finish wear and light patina on the magazine.
Receiver is P stamped.
Both bolt knobs are chipped.
