Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1906, in very good condition with 80% finish. 4/5 Bore (light to mildly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Handguard has a tiger stripe pattern visible on the top side.
Oh the right side of the stock, there are mild to fair pressure marks throughout the butt. Heavy gouge on the grip. Mild to fair pressure marks from the top of the grip to the left side of the finger groove. On the left side of the stock, there are light to mild pressure marks throughout the butt, and some small gouges near the bottom edge. Forward of the grip, below the receiver, there is a small hole as if a nail had been driven into the side of the stock. Small, light pressure marks in and around the finger groove. Some mild gouges before the rear barrel band. Small, heavy gouge at the woodline before the front barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there are several gouges from the toe to the pistol grip. Mild pressure marks on the pistol grip. Gouge on the right edge of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. The comb of the stock is stamped with a letter "A" and an armory rack number of 129118. Light pressure marks throughout the handguard.
Receiver bluing had been previously refurbished. Light edge wear around the loading slot, lightening cuts, and the forward and rear edges. Surface marks throughout the receiver, including some heavy surface marks at the rear of the receiver, next to the upper lightening cuts. Fair finish wear and multiple scratches on the rear barrel band. Fair to moderate finish wear on the front barrel band. Mild finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the trigger guard. Moderate edge wear throughout the magazine.
Receiver is P 63 stamped, indicating privatization in 1963.
