Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1905, in good condition with 75% original finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly work rifling, light pitting throughout). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are multiple light to mild pressure marks throughout the butt and up to the bolt release lever. Heavy pressure marks around the edge of the finger groove. Mild pressure mark on the forearm before the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there are light to mild pressure marks throughout the butt. Moderate and heavy pressure marks along the grip. At the forward end of the grip, below the receiver, there is a large, heavy pressure mark, several mild to fair pressure marks, and a pair of light gouges. Multiple scratches above and below the finger groove. Light pressure marks before the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there are multiple moderate pressure marks on the rear of the pistol grip and light scratches on the front of the pistol grip. Gouge on the right edge of the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton Aargau. On the handguard, there is a heavy gouge on the left side near the ferrule and a light gouge on the right side in front of the rear barrel band, above the woodline.
Receiver has moderate to heavy finish wear and mild patina on the left side of the receiver. Moderate to heavy edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts. Heavy finish wear on the rear barrel band. Moderate finish wear on the front barrel band. Mild to fair finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate finish wear on the trigger guard and magazine base.
Receiver is P 36 stamped, indicating privatization in 1936.
