Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1904, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (light pitting). 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture has light pressure marks throughout. On the right side of the stock, there is a light scratch below the comb at the heel, and a light gouge near the pistol grip. On the left side of the stock there is moderate to heavy handling wear below the receiver, with a few heavy pressure marks. Light scratches in and around the finger groove. On the underside of the stock there are heavy pressure marks and a few gouges found around the magazine plate. Heel is stamped with an encircled number 5. Dark coloration around the receiver tang. Handguard has light scratches and light gouges along the top side.
Receiver finish is mildly worn, with moderate to heavy finish wear over the chamber. Mild to fair finish wear along the left side. Moderate edge wear around the loading slot. Mild to fair edge wear around the loading slots. Both barrel bands have moderate to heavy finish wear. Heavy finish wear around the center of the magazine plate. Trigger guard has heavy finish wear. Mild to fair finish wear around the magazine.
Receiver is P 56 stamped, indicating privatization in 1956. ·6 stamp underneath the serial number indicates armory refurbishment in 1906.
Lower bolt knob is cracked.
