Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1903, in good condition with 80% original finish. 3/5 Bore (light to mildly worn rifling, light pitting throughout bore). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Tiger stripe pattern throughout the stock.
On the right side of the stock, there are light to mild pressure marks around the butt and on the grip. Heavy gouging below the bolt release lever. Mild to fair pressure marks below the finger groove, and mild pressure marks between the right side of the finger groove and the rear barrel band. Large gouge before the rear barrel band. Light pressure marks along the forearm in between the two barrel bands, as well as some white paint transfer. On the left side of the stock, there are light pressure marks around the butt. Mild and fair pressure marks on the grip. Between the grip and the right side of the finger groove, there are heavy pressure marks and a couple of heavy gouges. Heavy pressure marks around the finger groove and mild scratches off the left side. Heavy pressure marks around the rear barrel band, and a light gouge in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside, there are multiple scratches, gouges, and white paint transfer between the magazine plate and the rear barrel band and in front of the rear barrel band. The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton Fribourg. Mild pressure marks throughout the comb. Mild pressure marks throughout the handguard.
Receiver has light to mild finish wear and light patina. Mild edge wear around the loading slot, the lightening cuts, and the forward edge. Light edge wear on the rear edge. Light to mild finish wear and light to mild patina on both barrel bands. Mild finish wear and light pitting on the magazine plate. Heavy edge wear and mild finish wear on the trigger guard. Fair finish wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P 37 stamped, indicating privatization in 1937.
Top bolt knob is chipped.
