Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1902, in good condition with 75% finish. 5/5 Bore. 1*/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
Furniture had been previously completely sanded but there are still blemishes present. The Swiss military acceptance stamp on the right side of the butt is still present.
On the right side of the stock, there is a mild gouge to the left of the finger groove. There are a couple of light gouges on the forearm near the front barrel band. On the left side of the stock, there is a mild gouge above and to the right of the pistol grip and a few light gouges on the pistol grip. On the underside of the stock, there is gouging on the right edge of the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. There is an unrepaired crack at the rear barrel band spring, dropping the furniture grade from 3/5 to 1/5. Light gouging near the rear barrel band. The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton Vaud and has an armory rack number of 38154.
Receiver has moderate finish wear and heavy patina. Light surface marks throughout the rear of the receiver. Heavy finish wear and light to mild patina on both barrel bands. Light to mild patina and heavy finish wear on the magazine plate and trigger guard, and they are approaching white. Magazine has heavy finish wear and mild patina.
Receiver is P stamped.
Lower bolt knob has a heavy mark.
