Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1901, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (light to mildly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
On the right side of the stock, there are light pressure marks and light gouges around the butt. Below the bolt release lever are a pair of light gouges. Mild pressure marks and light gouges above the finger groove. Fair pressure mark to the right of the finger groove. Spot of paint transfer on the forearm about halfway between the two barrel bands. On the left side of the stock, there are light to mild pressure marks around the butt. Light gouge below the forward end of the comb. Light scratches and pressure marks along the grip. There are a few light gouges to the right of the finger groove and pressure marks and a couple of light gouges around the edge of the finger groove. Mild to fair pressure marks and mild gouges around the rear barrel band. There are a few light gouges about halfway between the two barrel bands. On the underside of the stock, there is gouging to the right of the magazine plate. The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton Fribourg. Moderate to heavy pressure marks throughout the comb. Handguard has numerous fair and moderate pressure marks throughout, particularly around the rear barrel band. Mild gouge on the right side at the woodline before the rear barrel band.
Receiver has light finish wear and light patina throughout. Light scratches throughout the receiver. Light edge wear around the loading slot and the lightening cuts, light to mild edge wear at the rear of the receiver. Light to mild finish wear and light patina on both barrel bands. Light finish wear on the magazine plate. Light finish wear and light edge wear on the trigger guard. There is a heavy surface mark on the underside of the trigger guard. Mild to fair finish wear on the magazine.
Receiver is P 51 stamped, indicating privatization in 1951. ·10 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1910.
Top bolt knob is cracked. Bottom bolt knob is chipped. Serial number non-matching.
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
